All our home eye tests are conducted by fully qualified optometrists who use the latest portable equipment to accurately check the eyes. As well as checking your prescription, they will also be checking for conditions that can affect your eyes, such as cataracts, glaucoma, macula degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other conditions too.

Should you require more spectacles, the optometrist will bring a large selection of frames and discuss all the lens options with you. We supply all lens options, which include single vision, bifocals, varifocals, thinner and lighter lenses, as well as transitions. -funded spectacles are available to those that qualify. Spectacles are normally delivered between 1-2 weeks.

Your FREE NHS home eye test

If you are unable to get to an optician unaided, then we can come to your home to provide a free NHS eye test and dispense spectacles if required. You can request an appointment for yourself or someone else, and we can visit people in care homes. The NHS (National Health Service) recommends an annual eye test for anyone over the age of 70 and every 2 years for anyone over the age of 60. Yearly eye tests are also advised for diabetics and people who are 40 years old and over with a family history of glaucoma.

Am I eligible for a Free NHS Home Eye Test?

You qualify for a free NHS home eye test if you are unable to visit an optician unaided and are any of the following:
• Aged 60 or over
• Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
• Aged over 40 and either your parents or siblings have glaucoma
• Considered to be at risk of developing glaucoma by an ophthalmologist
• Registered blind or partially sighted
• Have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher
scheme
• You or your partner is receiving the benefit (income support, income-based jobseekers allowance, income-related employment, and support).
Allowance, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or holding a valid NHS Tax
Credit Exemption Certificate)
• Named on a valid HC2 certificate

How long will i need to wait for an appointment?
